Set to finally welcome back Klay Thompson after 941 long days, the Golden State Warriors will host the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center on Sunday night. In anticipation of Thompson’s return, the Warriors didn’t risk Stephen Curry (quad) and Draymond Green (hip) against New Orleans on Thursday, resulting in a 101-96 loss at Smoothie King Center. Meanwhile, Cleveland overcame Portland 114-101 at Moda Center on Friday behind Darius Garland’s 26-point, six-assist, five-triple performance. That marked only the Cavaliers’ second win from six games. This is the second and final meeting between these teams this season, with the first going the way of the Warriors 104-89 on November 18 behind an incredible 36-8 fourth period, moving their winning streak against the Cavaliers to 13 games.
